TIM KARP

To his disappointment on his 12th Birthday, Tim Karp received a black and white Squire Stratocaster instead of a Scalextric. Reluctantly he began to play and his natural talent soon became a passion. 18 years later and he has since travelled to many countries, jamming with locals and learning music from across the world. A musician who teaches his passion in schools across London and finds time to play in a multitude of bands; from Balkan, Samba, cinematic sound, mashed up hits and originals.

SAM RIX (Rixy)

Rixy is an actor, writer and theatre maker. His passion is working with people, devising shows and telling stories in any which way he can. He adores the spontaneity of live performance, throwing himself and the audience into twisted tales filled with humour.

Sarah Liisa came on board as an official Ember Member in 2017. Having seen her perform with Story Jam, we knew she was the perfect fourth corner to our circle. She performs folktales and myths from all over the world, but particularly from her motherland of Finland and the cold north in general. Her style is engaging, energetic and playful.

Sarah Liisa has also worked as an actor, writer and director, and these experiences all feed into her own performances and the guidance she offers other Embers. Her passion is finding and retelling traditional tales to audiences today.

She has performed for people in clubs, pubs, festivals, museums, churches, theatres, front rooms and all-night sleepovers, in the UK and internationally, with renowned groups such as The Crick Crack Club, Story Jam and Storynight at Torriano.

Tim, Sam and Lonan have the pleasure of regularly working with a wonderful bunch of professional storytellers, actors, musicians and artists from London and beyond. Some of these include Thalissa Nuttall Teixeira; actor and piskie Lucy Mangan; Sian Kidd, artistic director of puppetry company Mirth and Misery; professional storyteller Vanessa Woolf of London Dreamtime; singer, songwriter and guitarist Mishka Adams; singer and songwriter Dominic Martin; musician Imran Khan; Kieron Maguire from Cabinet of Living Cinema; Tim Doyle and Josh Middleton of Don Kipper; Actor Alex Appleby;  Hannah Mi Anis of Firewater Bellydance Collective; Actor Leah Egan; party and vibes creators The Provibers and many more. We recently put together an immersive theatre, storytelling and music show called REWILDING with Marbles & Ware Collective for Meadows in The Mountains Festival in Bulgaria. If you'd like to get involved, give us a shout.
